Meghan L. Cobb

Hyde Park - Meghan L. Cobb, 29, a lifelong area resident, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie.

Born March 8, 1983 in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of Michael and Arlene Ryan. Mr. and Mrs. Ryan survive at home. She was a 2001 graduate of F.D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park and attended Dutchess Community College.

Before being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, Meghan worked for St. Francis Hospital, Drs. Beltrani, Dermatologists, and most recently Mt. Kisco Medical Group in Poughkeepsie.

Meghan was a wonderful, loving person who cherished her family and friends. She was always there to lend a hand or cheer you up when you needed it. She always put other people first and was always concerned about her family and friends.

Meghan was a loving daughter and sister with nothing but love in her heart. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother and best friend, Scott Cobb, of Hyde Park; uncle, Edward Cobb and wife, Arlene, of Hyde Park; aunt, Kathy Phillips and husband, Bob, of Wappingers Falls; uncle, Bill Cobb and wife, Stephanie, of Parish, NY; aunt, Joan Power and husband, Thomas, of Ireland; aunt, Christine Ryan of Amsterdam, Holland; uncle, John Ryan and wife, Gill, of Melbourne, Australia; uncle, Bernard Ryan and wife, Ann; aunt, Mae Lacey and husband, Noel; and uncle, Eamon Ryan and wife, Philomena, all of Ireland; uncle, Noel Ryan of Manchester, England; and many, many special cousins, and friends.

She was predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Eleanor Ryan, of Kilkenny, Ireland, with whom she held a special bond.

Calling hours will be Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. James A. Garisto at 10 am, Monday, December 10th at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel of St. Peter's Parish, 299 Hudson View Dr., Poughkeepsie.

Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Denis Cemetery, Hopewell Junction.

Meghan's family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at the Dyson Center for their loving care. Thanks also to the staff of St. Francis Hospital and the Roosevelt Fire Department and Rescue Squad for their compassionate help during our time of need.
