Mildred Beasimer

Hopewell Junction - Mildred Beasimer of Hopewell Junction passed away peacefully on March 7, 2013 at her home in Hopewell Junction. She was 90.

Born on November 14, 1922 in Stormville to the late Clarence and Mae Horton VanAnden.

Mildred was very active in the Dutchess County Pomona Grange and was the oldest member of the Sylvan Grange #825, being active for 74 years. She held many offices in the Sylvan Grange. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary post 1378 in Hopewell Junction and then the Wappingers Falls Post 5913. Mildred held many offices in the Dutchess county VFW and was considered a charter member for the Ladies Auxiliary for the Hopewell Hose Company.

Mildred loved to cook especially family dinners. She had a passion for sewing and crocheting, everyone in her family has one of her famous quilts.

She is survived by her loving children Lewis E. Beasimer of Bulls Head Arizona, Edna Barr and her husband Larry of Hopewell Junction. Dear brother Herbert VanAnden of Freehold, NY, Loving Sister In Law's Jean and husband Henry Baker of Poughquag, and Barbara VanVoorhis of Fishkill. Cherished grandchildren Roy L. Barr and his wife Patty, Francine O'Neil and her husband Rob, Lewis T. Beasimer and Danella Beasimer. Loving Great Grandchildren Kimberly A. Barr, Andrea M. Barr and Quinlan D. A. O'Neil.

Mildred was predeceased by her husband Lewis A. Beasimer in 1989.

Friends may call on Tuesday March 12, 2013 from 4-8pm at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home 900 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday March 13, 2013 at 11am at the funeral home, with interment to follow in Hopewell Cemetery.
