Poughkeepsie - Nancy Uniacke Yamen, 66, a lifetime Poughkeepsie resident, passed away peacefully on December 4 surrounded by family and friends at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Mary Murphy and John J. Uniacke and her brother John. She is survived by her loving sons, Michael and David Yamen (Crystal, Bailey & Nicholas) and their father, William Yamen, her sister MaryKay Uniacke Pullaro and her husband Raymond, her nephews Ray and John Pullaro, her niece Katrina Spina, her half-sister Nanciellen Uniacke, her step-mother Rosette T. Uniacke, several cousins and many dear friends. She graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School and received an Associates Degree from Dutchess Community College. Before retiring Nancy worked in the Law Office of Peter McGinnis for 30 years followed by employment at McCabe & Mack, where she made many good friends. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family and extended family, Betty and Beth Bruschini and her adopted nieces and nephew Samantha, Lexi and Christian Stuewer. They enjoyed traveling to the seaside communities of Mystic, CT and the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Calling Hours will be held Friday, December 7th from 4PM to 7PM at Parmele, Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Avenue, Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30AM Saturday, December 8th at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 775 Main St., Poughkeepsie followed by interment at St. Peter's Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Nancy's memory to Abilities First, 70 Overocker Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 directed to the "Apartment Living Program " (for socialization funds).
