Patrick A. Ciferri

POUGHKEEPSIE - Patrick A. Ciferri, 97, a longtime resident of Poughkeepsie, died Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Millbrook on September 4, 1916, he was the son of Rodrigo Ciferri Sr. and Josephine Nardone. Pat was a graduate of Millbrook High School and Krissler Business Institute. He served his country during WW-II with the US Army from 1941-1945 and was a recipient of the Bronze Star.

On October 20, 1945 at St. Joseph's Church, Millbrook, Pat married Ann Sherman, the love of his life. Mrs. Ciferri predeceased him in 1999.

Mr. Ciferri was a home builder for 38 years in Dutchess County and retired in 1982. He enjoyed reading, gardening, and tending to the needs of his family and home.

Pat is survived by his 2 sons; Patrick Ciferri and his wife Sandy of Poughkeepsie and David Ciferri of Poughkeepsie; his 4 grandchildren, Claudia, David, Timothy and Jeffrey; several great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, James P. Ciferri, Ernest Ciferri, Roderick Ciferri Jr., and Adolf Ciferri; and his sisters, Catherine Medico, Margaret Lamia, Mary Paolucci and Sadie Whalen.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 9 at 11 am at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 775 Main St., Poughkeepsie. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Millbrook.
