POUGHKEEPSIE - Dr. Steven N. Hanley passed away January 14th, 2013 at St Francis Hospital in the presence of his loving wife, Marianne. He was born November 29, 1929 in Kiszombor, Hungary. He was the son of Vilmos & Katherine Hinko. He was the youngest of four children. All predeceased him. Surviving are a niece Katherine and a nephew, Steve of Hungary. He immigrated from Hungary to Austria, then to the United

States in 1952. He achieved a Bachelor of Law and Economics degree in the United States. He returned to Vienna, Austria and attended the University of Vienna, completing his degree in Medicine in 1968. He practiced

most of his career in Poughkeepsie, NY. at Hudson River Psychiatric Center until its closing. He worked for Dutchess County Department of Mental Hygiene for the remainder of his career, retiring in 1999. He met his wife Marianne Wiesenberger when he was practicing in Austria. They were married on May 14, 1972 in Poughkeepsie, NY, where they presently reside. Steven was a member of St. Martin de Porres Church in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He was a member of the American Medical Association, and AARP. Steven was a dedicated practitioner, spending many hours helping the mental health population in his community. He loved nature, especially animals and enjoyed feeding them on their daily visits. A very kind man has left us. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held 2pm-4pm at Wm. G. Miller & Son, Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, N.Y. 12603 on Sunday, January 20, 2013. A Mass will be held on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 9:45am at St. Martin de Porres Church, Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Rev. Abraham K. George will preside.
