MILLBROOK - Thomas G. Beaumont, DMD, age 72, of Millbrook died Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born on December 17, 1941 in Newark, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Galvin J. and Annie M. (Jones) Beaumont.
Dr. Beaumont was a graduate of Kearny High School (NJ). He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1964 from Franklin and Marshall College and a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in 1968.
He served as a dental officer in the U.S. Army at Fort Polk, Louisiana and the Republic of Korea with the 2nd Infantry Division on the DMZ. He practiced general dentistry in Millbrook for 37 years.
On September 3, 1966 in Red Bank, New Jersey, he married his beloved wife of 47 years, Sandra A. Hartley, who survives him at home. Dr. Beaumont also is survived by his devoted daughters and sons-in-law, Kerry and Douglas Weller, and Kristen and Stephen DiFiore and four cherished grandchildren Kendra Hartley, Sophie Regan and Erin Maeve Weller, and Connor Thomas DiFiore. Two sisters, Dorothy Crossman and Beth Beaumont, and a brother, William and his partner Bill Howell, and many nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, W. Thomas Crossman.
Dr. Beaumont was a Director and Trustee of the Cardinal Hayes Home for Children and was a dedicated public servant of the Town of Washington for over forty years.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling hours. Graveside services with military honors will be held 12 noon on Tuesday, January 28 at Nine Partners Cemetery, Millbrook. A reception will follow at the Millbrook Fire House.
