POUGHKEEPSIE - Thomas J. Reddington, Jr., 48, of Poughkeepsie, passed away at his home suddenly on November 25, 2012. He was born in New York City on January 6, 1964, the son of Thomas J. & Joanne Pekar Reddington, Sr. He was graduate of Arlington High School where he was Captain of the football team and was called "Redd" by his teammates and friends. He then attended Marist College. He was a cook at various establishments in Dutchess County. Tom proudly served in the U.S. Navy form 1996-99 stationed aboard the USS Guam. He went through the Suez Canal in the Indian Ocean and Straits of Gibraltar in the Mediterranean Ocean. He loved his nieces and nephews and never missed a birthday. He loved the Beatles and an avid collector of Beatles Memorabilia. He collected political and various unique buttons. He was a Boy Scout with a Silver Arrow Award. He enjoyed classic rock and was fan of Irish Music. He was a member of the Howell township Lions Pop-Warner Football team that was crowned Jersey Shore Champions. He is survived by his parents in Poughkeepsie. Other survivors include his brother and sister-in-law: Stephen & Fran Reddington of Long Island, NY and sisters and their husbands: Susan & Wayne Thompson of Poughkeepsie, NY; Jeanne & Fred Lloyd of Kingston, NY; Christine & Dane Robinson of Poughkeepsie, NY and Mary & Jeff Caldwell of St. Augustine, Florida. His beloved nieces and nephews: Peder, Matt, Ryan, Cat, James, Anna, Zach, Charlotte, Patrick, Christina and Owen. Favorites Aunts and Uncles: Helen & Chet Tabacinski, Gaynal Kidd and Mickey Duffy. Cousins: Chet Tabacinski, Jr. and many others. He was pre-deceased by: Paternal Grandparents: Florence & Tom Reddington; Maternal Grandparents: Stella & John Pekar and a cousin: Michael Tabacinski. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 5-8 PM at the Wm. G. Miller & Son F.H., Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Saturday at 10 AM, 775 Main St., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
