Vasiliki Roussos

Poughkeepsie - Vasiliki Roussos, 82, of Poughkeepsie died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Skoura, Greece on October 15, 1930, she was the daughter of the late George and Panagiota Kotzias Retsinas. On February 12, 1961 in Montreal, Canada, she married George Roussos who survives at home.

Vasiliki and her husband George were the owners of George's Snack Bar at the Mardi Bob Lanes in Poughkeepsie

In addition to her husband George, Vasiliki is survived by her 2 children; Strat Roussos of Poughkeepsie and Pota Bozydaj of Red Hook; her 5 loving grandchildren, Bill, Chris and Victoria Bozydaj of Red Hook and Megan and George Roussos of Poughkeepsie; her 2 sisters, Alexandra Katsipontis and Demetra Dimopoulos, both of Montreal, and brother Peter Retsinas also of Montreal, Canada; and several nieces and nephews.

Vasiliki was a parishioner of Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church in Poughkeepsie. She enjoyed cooking and spending her time with her family, especially her grandchildren who were a constant joy for her.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 6 from 5-8 pm at Parmele, Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Ave., Poughkeepsie. A prayer service will be held at 7 pm during the visitation. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 7 at 10am from Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church, 140 S. Grand Ave., Poughkeepsie, with Father Gregory Patsis presiding. Interment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
