Fishkill - William A. Baker of Fishkill passed away on Thanksgiving Morrning suddenly at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 78.
Born on September 11, 1935 in Poughkeepsie to the late Charles and Mildred Miller Baker.
Bill grew up in Hyde Park and enlisted in the United States Navy during Korea where he was a radioman.
He loved to travel the country and had an extensive baseball card collection and was the collector of music memorabilia from the 1940's to today.
In 1976 on a blind date he met Dora Marie Bound who he married in 1977.
He is survived by his devoted wife Dora Baker , Loving Children Merrilee Myers and her husband Joe Lauth, and Margaret Parry. Cherished grandchildren Beth Cogswell, Christopher Cogswell and Clark Parry and his wife Franca. Great Grandchildren Caitlyn and Gian Parry. His dear brother Charles Baker and his wife Suyapa.
William was predeceased by his sister Judy Brooks.
Friends may call on Sunday December 1, 2013 from 2-5pm at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home 1028 Main St, Fishkill. A Funeral service will be held at 5pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private at Union Cemetery at a later date.
