Wappingers Falls, N.Y. - Bridget "Bridie" Doyle, a resident of the Village of Wappingers Falls since 1968, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 at St. Peters Hospital, Albany, N.Y.
Bridget was Chief Court Clerk in the Village of Wappingers Falls from 1980 until she retired in 2005. She worked as a teacher-monitor at James S. Evans grammar school in the 1970's. She recently retired from the Village Water Department.
Bridie was a member of the N.Y.S. Association Magistrates Court Clerk, Inc., the Dutchess County Magistrates Court Clerk Association, Inc., and served as president from 2003 to 2005.
Born in County Limerick, Ireland on July 4, 1942, she was the daughter of Michael and Mary Ahern Delee.
On September 29, 1962, she married Timothy J. Doyle, Jr. at Holy Family Church in the Bronx. He predeceased her on December 18, 2006.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Riedy and her husband Dale and their children, Theresa, Kathleen, and David, of Poughkeepsie, Son, Timothy J. Doyle III, and his wife Marcia, and their children, Patrick, Daniel, and Devynn, of LaGrange, son, Michael Doyle and his wife Barbara, and their children, Jason and Makenna of Hyde Park.
Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday at 10:30 AM at St. Marys Church, Clinton St., Wappingers Falls. Burial Wappingers Rural Cemetery.
