Betsey "May" Nowak

Wappingers Falls, NY - May Nowak passed away peacefully at her home in Wappingers Falls on Sunday, February 2, 2014, surrounded by her family.

She was born January 4, 1939 to Caroline and Reese Bowling. On October 26, 1957 she married the love of her life, Joseph F. Nowak, who survives at home.

She will be remembered by her family as a loving wife and a wonderful mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Susanne (Ralph) Heady of Wappingers Falls, and Joanne (Mike) Nichols of Poughkeepsie. She is survived by three grandchildren, James (Kimberly) Heady of Middletown, CT, Kayla (Timothy) Bither of Roanoke, VA, and Carissa Nichols of Poughkeepsie, She also has three greatgrandchildren, Maximus and Zoe Heady in CT., and Alexavier Bickford in VA. She is also survived by her sisters, Molly Johansen and Ruth Stevenson, and her brother Robert Bowling, and several nieces and nephews, and one special niece, Deborah Bickford of Highland.

She was predeceased by her mother, father, brothers, Reese and Richard Bowling, and her sister Rose Bowling.

Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM.

Family and friends will gather Wednesday at 9:30 AM at the funeral home and proceed to the Community Mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, where a service will be held at 10:00 AM. Rev. Chris Boyd will officiate.
