Wappingers Falls, N.Y. - Lillian Valentino, 89, of Wappingers Falls, passed away suddenly and peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2014 at home.
She was born in Rudco, N.Y. (Town of Poughkeepsie) on August 10, 1924, the daughter of Alfred Terralavoro and Josephine Russo.
On February 17, 1946, in St. Marys Church, she was married to Anthony L. Valentino, who died October 27, 2007.
Lillian was employed as a teachers aide in Wappingers Junior High School. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Court Queen of Peace, the town of Wappinger Senior Citizens, St. Marys Mothers Guild, and volunteered for the American Cancer Society.
She enjoyed ceramics, and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include her daughters, Joan Marie Nies and her husband Joseph, of Wappingers Falls, Linda Valentino of Rhinebeck, Grandchildren, Kimberly Nies of Albany, and Jennifer Nies Howard and her husband Brian of Red Bank, N.J., Great grandchildren, Juliana and Brayden Howard, Madeleine Nies, brother-in-law, Anthony Garzione, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers, Dante, Italo, and Ettore Terralavoro, and sisters, Helen Friel and Johanna Garzione.

Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church, Clinton St., Wappingers Falls. Burial St. Marys Cemetery.
