Helen M. Heupler

Hyde Park - Helen M. Heupler, 85, of Hyde Park, died Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck.

Born October 27, 1928 in Red Hook, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Iola Smith Van Wey.

A lifelong area resident, she was a supervisor for New York Telephone Co. in Poughkeepsie, retiring after 40 years and later worked for Molloy's Pharmacy in Hyde Park.

Helen was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and enjoyed playing cards.

On April 5, 1947 in Holy Trinity Church, Poughkeepsie, she married Harry B. Heupler. Mr. Heupler survives at home.

In addition to her husband, Harry, she is survived by her daughter, Diane Brayman of West Palm Beach, FL; son, Stephen Heupler and wife, Diana, of Red Hook; daughter-in-law, Susan Heupler of Hyde Park; sister, Norma Milkins and husband Woody of Arizona; brother, Paul Van Wey and wife, Velma, of Texas; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Justin, Melanie, Kristin, and Matthew; five great- grandchildren, Zoie, Evan, Kyle, Kadan, and Kaia; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Thomas J. Heupler on September 6, 2003.

Calling hours are Sunday, March 2nd from 3-6 pm at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.

Funeral Services are Monday, March 3rd at 11am at Sweet's Funeral Home. Father Brendan Fitzgerald will officiate.

Burial will follow in the family plot in Union Cemetery, Hyde Park.
