Town of Poughkeepsie - Phyllis Anderson, 60, a lifelong area resident, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie.

Born February 18, 1954 in Poughkeepsie, Phyllis was the daughter of William Fredrickson, who survives in Poughkeepsie, and Alice Metivier Hoyt, who survives in Florida. She attended Poughkeepsie schools.

Phyllis was the owner of the Oakridge Bakery of Hyde Park where she worked for the past five years with her husband, Jack. Before opening the bakery, Phyllis worked for IBM until her retirement in 2008.

In Las Vegas, Phyllis married Jack Anderson. Her husband of twenty years survives at home.

Phyllis' family was very important to her and she enjoyed spending time with them, especially her young grandchildren. A giving and loving person, she was always helping everyone she could and looking out for others in need. She had a huge heart.

In addition to her husband, father and mother, Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Christine Parker of Wallkill; and step-daughters, Tami Gunsch of Pleasant Valley, Barbie Banker of Clintondale, and Tina Romaine of Poughkeepsie; and eight grandchildren, Kyle and Kaelyn Parker, Mark, Matthew, and Ryan Gunsch, Kaitlin and Danielle Romaine, and Ricky Banker.

She is also survived by her brothers, Jeff Fredrickson of Lagrangeville, George Fredrickson of Wappingers Falls, Philip Fredrickson of Hyde Park, and Bill Fredrickson of Germany; sister, Michelle Drevlow of Florida; aunt, Rose Albano of Florida; cousins, Jody and Bobby Albano, both of Florida, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was predeceased by her grandmother (who raised her), Rose Metivier, daughter, Kim Pectle, uncle, Bob Albano, and nephew, George Fredrickson Jr.

Calling hours will be from 3 to 6 pm on Saturday, March 29, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
