Poughkeepsie - Doris Myrtle Kaelber, 92, a lifetime Poughkeepsie resident, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the Lutheran Care Center, Poughkeepsie.
Born August 7, 1921 in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Emily D. NashFarrier. She was a graduate of Arlington High School.
Mrs. Kaelber was the Co-Owner of Kaelber Oil Service in Hyde Park.
On April 5, 1941 in Poughkeepsie, she married George William Kaelber. He predeceased her on December 11, 2011.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Fern Kaelber of Hyde Park; granddaughter, Charlene Lancaster and husband, Andrew, of Newtown, CT; grandson, George Roger Kaelber II and wife, Betsy, of Middleburgh, NY; granddaughters, Rhonda Myers and Roseanne Montanino, both of Poughkeepsie; three great grandchildren, Nicole Kaelber of Poughkeepsie, and George Roger Kaelber III and Alivia Kaelber, both of Middleburgh; brother, Donald Farrier of Poughkeepsie; and several nieces and nephews including Marion Mehm of Hyde Park.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her two sons, George Roger Kaelber and Robin William Kaelber; brother, Earl Farrier; and sister, Leota Bellino.
There are no calling hours.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
