Poughkeepsie - Edward Russell Stroman was promoted from earthly sorrow to heavenly rewards on Sunday, July 20, 2014. He was 63. He was born to the late Charles and Harriet

Stroman Sr. Edward was married to Lisa Nelson Stroman whom predeceased him. He was product of the Poughkeepsie School district. He was a retired cook from Wassaic Devolopment Center. Some of his hobbies were detailing cars and shampooing rugs and he enjoyed spending time with family. One of his favorite meals was making potatoe salad and collecting Indian artifacts.

He leaves to mourn 6 daughters, Carlotta Stroman, Geterline Stroman both of Newport News, VA., Bolade Melvin of Norfolk VA, Luwona Jones of Covington GA, Karlissa (Willie) and Jessica Stroman of Poughkeepsie NY. 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grands; 4 sisters Helen Reed and Barbara Stroman of Poughkeepsie , Carol Reed of South Carolina, Sherry Lundsford of Virginia, 2 brothers, Charles Stroman Jr. and Albert Stroman both of Poughkeepsie; 5 sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law. One Uncle, Richard Stroman, and one Aunt, Eleanor Campbell. He had a special close cousin, Bruce Campbell and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was a cheerful happy person and loved by all, he will be greatly missed.

Edward was predeceased by his parents, wife, one grandson (Kurian Jr Hamilton).

Mr. Stroman will lay in repose 10-11 am Saturday, July 26th at Beulah Baptist Church, 92 Catharine Street, Poughkeepsie, NY. Service 11 am at the church. Rev. Regina Stroman Officiating.
