Marie Laham Obituary
Marie Laham

Fishkill - Marie Laham, 87, a resident of Fishkill since 1970 and formerly of Brooklyn, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Born in Medway, MA on December 5, 1926, she was the daughter of Ferris and Eva Abdulla Beshara. Marie had been employed as the Head Data Processor for Fishkill National Bank in Beacon and was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill. She enjoyed a long and happy marriage of sixty-four years with her childhood and life-long sweetheart, Bill Laham, who predeceased her on January 14, 2012. Marie was deeply devoted to her family, and adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Though she was always modest about her own abilities, Marie was a talented crafter and artist. Her home was filled with many special details that she painted or made herself. She also enjoyed crocheting and lovingly made Christmas stockings for each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Always warm, vibrant and gracious, Marie served as host for many exuberant family holidays, countless summer afternoons on her back deck, and spontaneous weekend breakfasts that often lasted all the way into late-night cups of coffee and tea. Marie provided her lively, close-knit family with a sense of calm and balance, and she will be remembered for the limitless patience, love and pride she had for each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Barbara and Ronald Dolan of Hopewell Junction, William A. and Debra Laham of Fishkill, June and Scott Kiesbye of Wappingers Falls; her former son-in-law, Paul Ruggieri; her grandchildren, Tara Dolan, William C. Laham, John Laham, Bryanne and Tom Figlia, Brad Ruggieri, and Emma Kiesbye; and her great-grandchildren, Lily and Cooper Figlia.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:30am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
