Millbrook - David William Armstrong, 57, of Millbrook, died on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. Born October 30, 1956 in Rhinebeck, he was the son of Warren G. and Joyce E. Levesque Armstrong. Mr. & Mrs. Armstrong survive at home in Clinton Hollow. David was a Heavy Equipment Operator. He loved farming, tending to his animals, hunting, fishing, and woodworking. On August 14, 2010 in Millbrook, he married Shellie L. Kennedy. Mrs. Armstrong survives at home.
In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include his six children, David Armstrong Jr. of Oklahoma, Jocelyn Horton, Joseph Gagnier, and Rissa Gagnier, all of Chazy, NY, and Brianna Armstrong of Port St. Lucie, FL; step-son, Casey Lee Kennedy of Poughkeepsie;14 grandchildren; brothers, Warren J. Armstrong of Montana, and Thomas H. Armstrong III of Clinton Hollow; sisters, Linda C. Ostrander and husband, David, of Clearwater, FL, Judy T. Bond and husband, David, of Murfreesboro, TN, Karen M. Armstrong of Poughkeepsie, and Barbara Jo DeBonis and husband, Paul, of Salt Point, NY; nieces and nephews, Shannon, Tonia, Jeremy, Timothy, Thomas, Joshua, Anthony, and Christopher; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
David was predeceased by his son, Jason Lee Armstrong on June 13, 1996.
In keeping with David's wishes, cremation will take place at the convenience of the family.
A period of visitation will be Saturday, August 9, from 10-11 am at the Clinton Alliance Church, 1192 Centre Rd., Rhinebeck. A Memorial Service will take place at 11am, the Rev. Thomas Hartley officiating. Burial of David's ashes will follow in the family plot in Schultzville Cemetery (next to the church).
