Washington Waite

CLINTON CORNERS - William Washington Waite, 91 of Clinton Corners passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck.

Born in Santiago, Cuba on July 12, 1920, he was the son of Ragnes and Anesto Lyon Waite. William served his country during WW-II with the US Navy and was the recipient of the American Theater Medal and the Victory Medal. Mr. Waite was employed by Arco Lighting Co., Manhattan in the shipping and receiving department and retired in 1983 after many years of service.

He was the beloved husband of the late Cleopatra Waite and brother in law of the late Collista Price. He is survived by his step son Robert and his wife Pauline; granddaughters, Seneca and Camille; brothers Douglas and Rupert; sister Dottrel; and loving nieces and nephews and many other dear family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Cornerstone Bible Fellowship Church, 1592 Hollow Rd., Clinton Corners. Entombment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery with military honors.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Allen Funeral Home, 3270 Franklin Ave., Millbrook.
