POUGHKEEPSIE - Howard J. Edwards, Jr., 74, of Poughkeepsie, passed away at home on, May18, 2012

surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 28, 1937 in Catskill, NY, the son of Howard J. & Margaret Stroh Edwards, Sr. He graduated from Poughkeepsie High School in 1955. After graduating he went to work for Hoe Woodworking in Poughkeepsie as a cabinetmaker. Then he went to I.B.M. in Poughkeepsie as a machine tester for 30 years. He retired in 1995. On April 5, 1959 in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie he married the former Rosemarie A. Maneri. She survives at home. He was a member of American Legion Post #1302 in Arlington and the B.P.O.E. 275 in Poughkeepsie. Howard was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed traveling, boating, was a classic car collector, had a fascination with trains and was a Boston Red Sox Fan. He was season ticket holder and fan of the Marist College Women's basketball team. Survivors include his Son: Howard J. Edwards, III of Beacon, NY; Daughter & Son-in-law: Toni & John Krantz of Glen Rock, NJ and Daughter and her Fiance: Debbie Edwards & David Milla of Poughkeepsie, NY. Sisters include: Patricia Garzione of Ft. Myers, Fla.; Virginia DeCarlo of Liberty, NY and Evelyn Fulton of Wappingers Falls, NY. There are many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 22, 2012, 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Wm. G. Miller & Son F.H., Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 11AM in Mt. Carmel Church, Mill St., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorial Donations may be made to: St. Jude's Research Hospital, ATTN: Memorial Donations Dept., 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
