Nichola "Nick"


PAWLING - Nichola Alexander (Nick) of Pawling, NY passed away on August 4, 2012. He was born on May 19, 1940 in Paterson, NJ to Marguerite (Sacco) and William Alexander.

He was raised in Holmes, NY and attended Pawling High School. Nick proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1960. After returning home from the service he married Genevieve Dougherty April 27, 1963. He was employed by the U.S. Post office and retired in 2002. Nick enjoyed to play computer games, the ponies, and Lotto.

Nick is survived by his wife Genevieve (Gen) M. (Dougherty) Alexander of Pawling, NY. His sons Richard M. Alexander of Wingdale, NY, Edward Alexander (Jennifer) of Philmont, NY and his daughter Diana M. Scrivanos of Brewster, NY. Also Survived by 6 grandchildren Richard M. Alexander Jr., Kerri Scrivanos, Nicholas, Abigail, Joseph, and Kristen Alexander. Nick also leaves behind a brother Herbert (Shirley) Alexander of Holmes, NY, three sister-in-laws Shirley, Barbara, and Patricia Alexander, and several nieces nephews and many friends including his good friend and betting partner Alex Scott. He was predeceased both parents and brothers William and Joseph.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 9 PM at Cargain Funeral Homes in Carmel, 10 Fowler Ave. Carmel, NY 10512 (845)225-3672. In Lieu of Flowers please buy yourself a lotto ticket and go out for dinner.
