Audrey E. Hadden

Hyde Park - Audrey E. Hadden, 81, a lifelong area resident, was called home to our Lord on October 1, 2012. She died peacefully at St. Francis Hospital after a brief illness. Her independent spirit sustained her during this time.

Audrey was born July 15, 1931 in Poughkeepsie; she was the daughter of the late Douglas E. and Nellie E. Fox Hadden.

She was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and the St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing.

Ms. Hadden was a dedicated and caring registered nurse. Most of her nursing career was spent at St. Francis Hospital, where she was the Head Nurse of the Orthopedic Department. After retiring from St. Francis, she went on to work at the Baptist Home in Rhinebeck, and the Dutchess County Jail.

She was an active member of the Hyde Park United Methodist Church for 48 years, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She was also a member of the Hyde Park Republican Club for many years.

Audrey enjoyed the outdoors, working in her yard, and spending time with her family. She was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Ms. Hadden is survived by her son, Rick E. Studler, and wife, Linda J., of Pleasant Valley; grandson, Justin E. Studler, and wife, Shara, of Yuma, AZ; brother, Douglas R. Hadden, and wife, Helen, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; niece, Tami Maisa, of Davie, FL; nephew, Todd Hadden, of Robbinsville, NC; and great niece and nephew, Marissa and Corey Maisa, both of Florida.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her granddaughter, Sarah E. Studler, in June, 2009.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hyde Park United Methodist Church, 1 Church St., Hyde Park.

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Church. Rev. Eileen Freeman will officiate.

Entombment will follow in the Community Mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
