Lisbon E. "Al" Allen

HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Lisbon E. "Al" Allen, a resident of Hopewell Junction, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 24, 2012 surrounded by his loving family at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. He was 74.

Son of the late Hardy Allen and Delphia Hawkes Allen Green, he was born September 30, 1938 in Blackstone, Virginia.

Prior to his retirement in 2000, Al worked as a Boilerman for General Motors in Tarrytown. He went on to own and operate HV Deck and Wall. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the NRA. Al was proud of the fact and celebrated his thirty-one years of sobriety.

He is survived by his life partner Barbara Raineri of Hopewell Junction and her children, Gina and Tim Moroch, Susan Grossman, and Carolyn Raineri; his children, Terrance Farrell and his family of Alaska, Larry Farrell and his family of Alaska, Christopher Farrell, Stephen Allen of Poughkeepsie, and Kenneth Allen and his wife, Cheryl Picone Allen of Wappingers Falls; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Nicholas, and Zachary Schreibman, James Reyes, Mackenzye and Aidan Allen, Jason and Joey Bourne, and Andrew, Alexandra, and Amanda Moroch; as well as his two nieces.

Al was predeceased by his brother, Hardy "Boots" Allen and his beloved dog, Rooney.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. Military Honors will be offered at 7:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Al's name may be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598.
