Poughkeepsie, NY - Cindy Brink Mendez, 51, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family into the arms on an angel on February 7, 2013. She was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on February 19, 1961 the daughter of Wilbur Franklin Brink and Mary Burger.
Cindy was loved very much by all that knew her. She had a passion for cooking and was very good at it. Cindy was a very caring person, she would give everything she had to help others. Even in her last days she said funny things to make you smile. Her favorite saying was "If you love something set it free, if it comes back it was meant to be". She will be cherished in our hearts and memories forever. She was employed by Grandway Laundromat for several years. She is survived by her son Christopher Brink and Daughter-in-law Christina Brink, Husband Jose "Tony" Mendez, Mother Mary Burger Brink, Brothers Floyd, Alan and Wilbur Brink, Sisters Mary Casamirro, Debra Brink and Georgette Veach, along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, February 12th from 6 pm-7 pm at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 218 Mill Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Wheelchair entrance is located in the rear of the funeral home on Vassar Street. Services will be given at 7 pm by Pastor Michael Ackereauer at the funeral home.
