Poughkeepsie - Katarzyna Buliszyn, known to her friends and neighbors as Mrs. B, 87, died on Friday, February 8, 2013 Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Mrs. Buliszyn worked as a cook for the former Michael's Fish Market and Catering in Poughkeepsie for many years. She enjoyed going to bingo and playing pinochle with her friends. She had a green thumb; she loved her plants and rose garden. She loved to cook, especially for her family during the holidays.
She was born in Poland on February 13, 1925 to the late Karol and Neonilia Filcrynski Haberstock.
She married Wladyslaw Buliszyn, who predeceased her on April 2, 1985.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Mendola and husband, Peter, of Lagrange; son, Stanley Buliszyn and wife, Judy, of Ocala Florida; daughter, Christina Doxsey and husband, Richard, of Poughkeepsie; daughter, Susan Holsopple and husband, Edward Jr., of Poughkeepsie; grandchildren, Brian and Justin Mendola of Lagrange, Melissa Macur of Marlboro, and Ariel and Taylor Holsopple of Poughkeepsie; and great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Carson Macur of Marlboro.
She is also survived by her siblings; brother, Frank Haberstock and wife, Jean, of Leland, NC; sister, Emily Cebo of Stamford, CT; brother, Michael Haberstock and wife, Jane, of Staatsburg; and many nieces, nephews and friends, all of whom loved her very much. We will all miss her dearly.
In addition to her husband, and parents, Katarzyna was predeceased by her sister, Marie Bulinski of Paris, France; and two brothers, Machal and Janik Haberstock, both of Germany.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, Tuesday, February 12th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM, Wednesday, February 13th at the Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
