TEQUESTA, FL - Roger Thomas Buchanan, of Tequesta, FL, passed away Saturday, April 27th.

Born in North White Plains, NY on July 4th, 1926, Roger was the son of the late Charles and Lillian (Smetana) Buchanan. Roger leaves behind his son Stephen Buchanan (Jennifer) of Stamford, CT; daughter Barbara O'Dea (Daniel) of Lagrangeville, NY; son John (Lia) of North Salem, NY; son Michael of Pleasantville, NY. He was the caring grandfather to Caroline, Daniel, Susan, Stephen, John and Matthew. Predeceasing him were sons Roger Jr. of Chappaqua, NY and Thomas of Pleasantville, NY.

Roger proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, in the Army of Occupation after WWII, in Germany. He was self-made man, establishing The Buchanan Agency in North White Plains in the mid 1950's. Roger was known for his kindness, his clever wit and especially his true passion for the game of golf. He took pleasure in helping others, whether it was family, friends or just an acquaintance and he did so quietly, and gracefully. His children and grandchildren will miss his wonderful personality.
