HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Edwin T. "Teddy" Ruffell, 83, an area resident for 40 years and previously of New Rochelle, died on Friday, October 11, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in New Rochelle on April 7, 1930, he was the son of the late Thomas and Catherine (Mahan) Ruffell. Teddy proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. On May 19, 1956 at the Church of St. Catharine in Pelham, he married Marie Guccione who survives at home.
Teddy was employed as the Company Carpenter for McLeod Brothers, Inc. in New Rochelle until his retirement. He had served as a Troop Leader of Boy Scout Troop #6 in New Rochelle. An avid fisherman and hunter, he was also a member of the Vanderbilt Association Garden Club.
In addition to his loving wife of over 57 years, Teddy is survived by his son, Michael Ruffell and his companion Louise Rose of Germantown; his daughter, Catherine Secor and her husband David of Beacon; his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Secor formerly of Beacon and now residing in Avondale, AZ; and his grandson, Gregory Secor of Beacon. Teddy will always be remembered as a proud husband, father, and grandfather.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 5pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by military honors.
