Eleanor Evers Obituary
WAPPINGERS FALLS
- Surrounded by her family, Eleanor Evers, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 12, 2013. Born in Manhattan on 12-1-1924 to William Henry Otto Schenkenberg and Anna Eugenia Hanson, Eleanor was raised in the Bronx and Pine Plains, NY along with her two brothers John Henry Schenkenberg (deceased) and Rudolph Otto Schenkenbergh. Eleanor married Harry Joseph Evers Jr. (deceased) on 8-19-49. They lived in Queens before moving to Ardsley and raising three children: Harry, Karen & Lisa. Eleanor enjoyed skiing & ice skating and anything family related. She was a longtime member of the Ardsley Secor Volunteer Ambulance Corp., beloved member of The Ridgeway Alliance Church, Sunday school and AWANA teacher, choir member and employed for numerous years as a teacher assistant at the Ridgeway Nursery School. She was a loving mom, loved the Lord, and enjoyed helping others, always seeing the potential and good in every child and in everyone. She could fix anything! A viewing and memorial service was held at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home on 11-14-13 and Eleanor was laid to rest in Fishkill Rural Cemetery. She is survived by her children Harry, Karen & Lisa & their families; Susan Evers and Joseph Cipriani, her grandchildren Tucker, Taylor & Kelsey; brother Rudolph Otto and Kathy Schenkenberg; sister-in-law Lillian Schenkenberg and numerous nieces and nephews including Lorrie, Wendy, Carol, Elizabeth, Linda and their families.
