EASLEY — Charles B. Duncan Sr., 92, of Easley, widower of Lillie Mae Turner Duncan, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014.
Born in Travelers Rest, he was a son of the late William Laten and Bessie Hawkins Duncan. Mr. Duncan served as a Master Sargeant with the US Army in Germany during WWII. He worked for Sullivan Hardware, Standard Supply, and Easley Mechanical and was a member of Elljean Baptist Church.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patsy Duncan Campbell.
Surviving are daughter, Donna Duncan Burgess of Myrtle Beach; son, Charles B. Duncan, Jr. and wife Cindy of Taylors; six grandchildren, Brad Duncan, Charles Duncan, III, Jennifer Edens, Kevin Burgess, Kristi Canty, and Ryan Campbell; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Margaret Duncan Huff; and special caregivers, Rachel and Bill York, Donna Hester, and Joan Ray.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Billie Irvin, Hugh, Troy, Harold, Clyde, Woodrow, James, and Joe Earl Duncan.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 16, 2014 from 11 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with the funeral service following at 12 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
