Everette Eckrich Obituary
Everette Dean Eckrich, 80, of Iowa City, passed away Saturday February 20, 2016 in the comfort of his home.
Family committal services will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials in Everette's memory may be directed to Mercy Hospice or Iowa City Hospice. Online condolences can be sent to his family at www.gayandciha.com.
Everette was born March 2, 1935, in Iowa City; son of Peter and Loretta (Moore) Eckrich. He graduated from University High in 1954, that same year he married Isabelle Reynolds at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Iowa City. He had served in the Iowa National Guard and worked for the University of Iowa, retiring after 25 years.
His family includes his wife, Isabelle; children, Gary Eckrich, Pam Gerot, Randy Eckrich, Susan Eckrich and Debra (Brad) Schaver; five grandchildren, Tony, Vanessa, Brandon, Chad and Abbey; four great-grandchildren; brother, Cletus Eckrich of Arizona and sister, Karla (John) Widmer of Fairfield, Iowa.
Everette's family would like to thank the caregivers of Iowa City hospice for the wonderful and loving care they provided to him and his family.

We send our sympathy to you all on Everette's passing. We did not know our cousin very well however we enjoyed visiting with him and your family at the reunions in Riverside. May he rest peace, and may your memories dry your tears and comfort you in the days ahead.
