Shirley Miller Ahlgren, 93

Shirley Miller Ahlgren, 93, of Mashpee, formerly of East Aurora, New York and Iowa City, Iowa, passed away at Royal of Cotuit on March 10, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late Carl R. Ahlgren.

Shirley graduated from Iowa City public schools. After her husband died she returned to Iowa City and graduated from the University of Iowa with her Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology. She ultimately became an administrative assistant at the University for many years until her retirement. In 1989 she moved to Cape Cod. Along with being an avid bridge player at the Senior Center, she loved being involved in the community, such as volunteering at the town hall in Mashpee. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister and will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Shirley is survived by 8 children, Robert Ahlgren and wife Aleda of Eagle, CO, Merry Sue Ahlgren of Mashpee, MA, Kathy Thorp and husband Eric of Westford, Ma, Linda Koulouris of Shelburne, VT, James Ahlgren and wife Vickie of St. Charles, MO, Nancy Krueger and husband John of Menasha, WI, Peter Ahlgren of Orange Park, FL, Sara Ahlgren of Gaithersburg, MD, 3 siblings, Phyllis Landau, Lyle Miller, Richard Miller, 10 grandchildren, Lynne, Leigh, Lane, Abby, Carolyn, Matthew, James, Peter, J.C., Scott, and many nieces and nephews.
