Pomeroy, Robert C.
Robert C. Pomeroy passed away peacefully at UHS Senior Living at Ideal on January 4, 2013. He was born in Endicott to the late Robert H. and Alice Cook Pomeroy. He is predeceased by his sisters, Louise Gaskill and Doris Swindler. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lillian; a daughter, Diane (Alan) Fisher of East Windsor, NJ and a son, Dean (Sherry) of Orchard Park, NY. He is also survived by grandchildren, Allison (Graham) Murray of Cranford, NJ, Deanna (Karl) Najork of Waldwick, NJ, Corey Pomeroy of Buffalo, NY and Marshall (Laura) Pomeroy and great-grandchildren, Christopher and Anna of Upper Arlington, OH, and several nieces and nephews. Robert was a 1937 graduate of Union-Endicott High School and joined IBM that same year. He served for 3 1/2 years in the U.S. Army during World War II with most of that time on overseas assignments. He retired from IBM after 39 years of service and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. After retirement he was the Business Manager for First United Methodist Church of Endicott for 17 years. He also served on numerous church committees and was the church's life long oldest member. The family thank the doctors, nurses, CNA's and supportive staff at UHS Senior Living at Ideal, especially Daisy Court, for the excellent care given Robert during his extended illness. Funeral Services will be held at Allen's Memorial Home on Sunday, January 6th at 1:00PM with the Reverend Susan Davis. A private burial service will be at Riverhurst Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First United Methodist Church Board of Trustees, 53 McKinley Ave., Endicott, NY 13760 in the memory of Robert C. Pomeroy.

Lillian, Diane, and Dean, its been about 27 years since I left FUMC and Endicott. My sympathies to you all. Bob and Lillian could always be found at the church. I have many fond memories of Bob and know he will greatly missed by many.

Sorry to hear about Bob's passing. In my many years of service I would encounter Bob in one area of concern or another and his dedication to Family ,Church and Community was genuine. Rest in Peace.
