Bailey, Mary E. of Johnson City, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015 at Willow Point Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her husbands Raymond Bailey and Benjamin Nichols; sisters Margaret Will and Esther Baldwin. She is survived by her brothers John and Debbie Mallery, PA, Robert and Joan Mallery, PA; sister June Flickinger, CA; step children Barbara Knapp, Charlotte and John Clark, Audrey and Dave Ingraham, Ronald and Sherry Bailey, Lori Bailey; many special grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mary was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Johnson City for many years where she was active in both the Harmony Class and the Golden Heirs. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, at 11:00AM at the First Baptist Church of Johnson City, 1321 Reynolds Road, Johnson City with Pastor Jim Murphy officiating. Burial will be held in Riverhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:00AM until the time of services at the First Baptist Church of Johnson City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary's memory to the Capital Campaign at First Baptist Church of Johnson City. Arrangements have been made through the Barber Memorial Home, Inc.

Barrett, Charles Joseph  
Barrett, Charles Joseph Charles Joseph Barrett, 61, of Endwell passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at home on Tuesday, April 7th 2015. He was predeceased by his brother John Barrett. He is survived by his parents Charles and Kathryn Barrett, his beloved wife Amy, and two children Maureen and Patrick. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Ellen King; brother-in-law, Robert King; niece Kathleen Josey, and nephews Robert and Kevin King. He leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins and many devoted friends. Charlie's greatest passion in life was spending time with family and friends who he loved unconditionally. Charlie graduated from Seton Catholic High School, Endicott, in 1972 and the University of Scranton in 1976. He began his accounting career with Price-Waterhouse in New York City while achieving his status as a Certified Public Accountant. He moved his family back to his home town of Endwell where he worked for Singer Link and Public Loan. Charlie's ultimate goal was to establish his own CPA firm. After several locations he finally built his dream office creating the firm Barrett & Mahonski CPA's. In the community, Charlie could be found volunteering for the church, Endwell Rotary, Meals on Wheels, and the Boy Scouts. He was the Financial Advisor for St Joseph's Church. He also was an active member, an officer and the President from 2002-2003 of the Endwell Rotary and truly lived by the code "service above self". He was the treasurer of Meals on Wheels of Western Broome County, and served on the Board of Catholic Charities. His passion for the Boy Scouts of America started at a young age when he became an Eagle Scout, as years went on he continued to be active in the scouting community, which led to him receiving the prestige Silver Beaver Award for "Distinguished Service to Youth". Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30AM at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main St., Endicott followed by a Funeral Mass at 10AM at St. Joseph's Church, 207 Hayes Ave., Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Friday from 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meals on Wheels of Western Broome.

Beam, Davis A., Jr. Davis A. Beam Jr., 63, of Binghamton passed away on April 11, 2015. He is survived by his mother, Norma Beam; cousins, Betty and Thomas Merrill; friends, Jean Abbott and Gary Cooper. A private service will be held in Spring Forest Cemetery at 3:30 on Tuesday, April 21.

Birdsall, Gertrude  
Birdsall, Gertrude Vestal, formerly of Johnson City: Gertrude Birdsall, 97, went home to be with The Lord, March 3, 2015 after an extended illness. She was predeceased by her husband Earl Birdsall, her daughter Linda Matyjewicz and sons-in-law, Dick Matyjewicz and Richard (Dick) Sculley. She is survived by her children, Marcia A. Sculley and David E. (Jackie) Birdsall, 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She worked first for Endicott-Johnson and then Savory Oil until her retirement. She enjoyed playing piano and often accompanied her husband Earl in his vocal performances in area churches. She was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Johnson City. She had a deep love for all animals. Memorial services will be 1:00 pm Saturday April 18 at the First Presbyterian Church of Johnson City. She will be buried in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. Bowen, Willis "Bill" Greene: Willis "Bill" Bowen, 78, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 9, 2015. He was predeceased by his wife, Doris; children, Willis and Cheryl. He is survived by children, Penny and Mark Sweet, James and Kim Bowen, Tammy and Doug Wells, Billy Bowen; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Carol Gould, Donna and Cook; great aunt, Ruth Morano; close friend, Caroline Sutton. Bill went to work at the age of 11 and put himself through Boiler School. He would help anyone and had a heart of gold. Funeral Services will be held 11am Thursday at Root Funeral Home, 23 North Chenango Street, Greene, NY 13778. Friends of the family may call Thursday from 10-11am at Root Funeral Home. Briggs, Dorothy R.  
Briggs, Dorothy R. On March 30, 2015, Dorothy R. Briggs, 86, of Binghamton, went to be with her Lord, and husband, Earl, of 53 years, on what would have been his 95th birthday. She is pre-deceased by her parents R. Wesley and C. Elizabeth Letson, and brother, Donald Letson. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Kathi and Dennis Feduke, Frisco, TX; Nancy and Larry Richards, Knoxville, TN; David and Karen Briggs, Hampstead, NC; and Timothy and Nancy Briggs, Whitney Point, NY. She is survived by two sisters and their spouses, Louise and Arthur Steika; Joyce and Wayne Jordan, all of Johnson City, NY. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was devoted to her family, church, and many friends. As a 61-year member of Ogden Hillcrest United Methodist Church, she was involved in Bible study, adult choir, bell choir, and United Methodist Women. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 18, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Ogden Hillcrest United Methodist Church, 1061 Chenango Street, Binghamton, NY 13901, with Reverend Joyce Allen officiating. Internment service for the family will follow at Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy can be made in Dorothy's name to the Memorial Fund at Ogden Hillcrest United Methodist Church. Brink, James  
JAMES A. BRINK 70, of Great Bend, PA passed away peacefully on April 9, 2015 with his loving family by his side. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Joe, and his beloved son Jimbo. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Joanie; his cherished daughters, Shari and Bob Lewis and Marcie Dorunda; daughter-in-law, Donna Brink; six grandchildren, Kate, Kelsey, and Laura Brink, Marc Stanton, Dylan Dorunda, and Dylan Lewis. Jim was a self-employed carpenter. He was a Son of the American Legion Post #357 and V.F.W. Post #6223. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his atv, and tinkering in the garage. A casual celebration of his life will be held from 1-3 p.m., Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the V.F.W. Post #6223, Great Bend, PA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc.

Brower, William P. Greene: William P. Brower, 79, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015. He was predeceased by twin sons, Wade and Wayne. Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Diane, mother of his six children and their spouses: William and Kathy and their children, Mitch, Julianne, and Dalton; Ward and Lisa and their children, Morgan, Gunnar, Hannah, Wyatt, and Wrett; Tracie and Tim Puglisi and their children, Monica and Nic; Warren and Jamie and their children, Hannah, Ivadell, Willow, and Laurell; several nieces and nephews. Bill was an avid sports fan and he loved classic cars. Bill greatly loved his family, as they did him. He was an excellent role model for his family to aspire to. Bill was a man of integrity and lived accordingly. He will be a tough act to follow. He will be greatly missed. Funeral Services will be held 11AM Wednesday at Root Funeral Home, 23 N.
