Hayes, Joan Marie Emmons Joan Marie Emmons Hayes, age 80, died peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2014, after a long and brave battle with Alzheimer's disease. She is remembered for her warm and ready laugh, her kindness, courage, strength, and energy. She is survived by her beloved husband, John Hayes; her brother, James (JoAnn) O'Neil of Binghamton and sister in law Helen (Robert) O'Neil of Plattsburg, NY; her ten children, Nancy (Chris) Davies of Waverly, Joseph (Mary) Hayes of St. Cloud, FL, Daniel (Lori) Hayes of Vestal, Karen (Gary) Marshall of Haddonfield, NJ, Eileen (Michael) Cunningham of Atlanta, Kevin (Cindy) Emmons of Binghamton, Linda (Michael) Ketchoyian of Endicott, James (Terry) Hayes of Collegeville, PA, Ann (Tony) Ryan of Boston and Mark (Frances) Emmons of San Francisco; 26 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Joan was born in Johnson City to Helen and Joseph O'Neil, graduated from St. Patrick's Academy and received her nursing degree from St. Joseph's Nursing School in Elmira. Professionally she was competent, caring and compassionate and her desire to help others was evident in all facets of her life. She started her career in the emergency room of Lourdes hospital and retired after 15 years at IBM in Endicott. Joan and John had a wonderful life together full of family and wonderful friends. They shared a love of music, old movies, visits with their large extended family, and barbecues on the back deck. They were members of the Church of the Holy Family in Endwell and were grateful for their many blessings. One of Joan's favorite expressions was "My cup runneth over". Her brother Robert, former husband Roger Emmons and granddaughter Melissa Hayes all predeceased Joan. A special thanks to the wonderful staff at Vestal Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for the tender caring of Joan over the last four years. The family invites you to celebrate Joan's life on Thursday, December 18 from 4-7 p.m. at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc. at 150 Main Street, Johnson City. Hinrichsen, Martin D. Martin D. Hinrichsen, 56, of Endicott, left for the happy hunting grounds on Saturday December 20, 2014. He was predeceased by his mother, Patricia Kerr; father, James W. Hinrichsen; brother, James D. Hinrichsen; mother-in-law, Amy Kerr; brother-in-law, George Kerr; and faithful companion, Cochise. He is survived by his wife, Thelma and his "Little Girl" Molly; step sons, Kenny (Lorraine) Wilkins, Roger (Emily) Wilkins; step grandchildren, Emily Anne and Kevin; sister, Shonni Hinrichsen, Cathie Holobosky; niece, Amanda (George) Schumacher; great niece and nephew, Allee and Talan; close friends, Roberta Lozzi and Bryan Takacs. Marty was a proud member of the Gaskill Corners Gang and made many memories he loved to share. Marty took pride in his job with Maine-Endwell School District, retiring after 27 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Marty enjoyed sports of all kinds and was a Civil War Buff. He loved a big meal and enjoyed a good laugh with family and friends. Marty was an all around interesting guy. The family would like to thank Dr. Harris and the entire staff at Broome Oncology for the wonderful care he received and will be forever thankful for the members of the Maine-Endwell School District for their support. A funeral service will be held at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 E. Main St. Endicott, on Monday December 29, 2014 at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday December 28, 2014 from 2 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Marty to a local charity of one's choice and remember to help a neighbor. "I've gone to shoot the big one ya see"

Hogan, Gerald (Jerry) F. McLean, VA: Gerald (Jerry) F. Hogan of McLean, VA, passed into eternal life on December 8, 2014 at home in the presence of his loving family. Jerry was born on May 2, 1950, in Binghamton, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, William L. and Marion McKinney Hogan, and is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Donna O'Brien Hogan, and their sons Brian and Kevin and daughter Kelly, and by his five brothers and four sisters and their spouses, William J.(Anne), Johnson City, Mary E.(Bruce) Theobald, Vestal, John G. (Anne), Upper Montclair, NJ, Thomas M.(Kathleen), McLean, VA, Dr. Robert J., Binghamton, Ellen C. (John) Gannon, Ashburn, VA, Richard P. (Sheryl), Chicago,IL,Teresa M. (Dr. John B.) Long, Woodside, CA, Anne B. (Ivan) Brown, Rockford, IL, and by 33 nieces and nephews. He was a 1968 graduate of Binghamton Central High School, 1972 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and a 1977 graduate of the University of Toledo College of Law. He was AVP of Federal Relations for AT&T, and a faithful parishioner of St. John the Beloved Roman Catholic Church, McLean, VA, where his Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday, December 12, 2014. Burial will be in the spring at St. Mary's Cemetery, Skaneateles, NY. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be mailed with a memo indicating that your gift to support Colorectal Cancer research is in memory of Gerald F. Hogan, to Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, 750 East Pratt St., Suite 1700, Baltimore, MD 21202.
