Lockman, Kathleen A. LEE-- Kathleen A. (Polastri) Lockman, 53, of Apalachin, NY passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 surrounded by her family following a courageous eight year battle with ocular melanoma. Kathy was born in Pittsfield, MA on June 26, 1961, the daughter of Dorothy M. Biasin Polastri and the late Paul P. Polastri. She was educated in the Lee, MA schools, was a 1979 graduate of Lee High School and a 1981 graduate of Berkshire Community College with honors. Kathy worked at Town & Country Travel in Lee and Small World Travel in Pittsfield until starting her family. She and her husband moved to Apalachin, NY in 1991 and Kathy became a Kindergarten Aide at Tioga Hills Elementary School. Besides her mother of Lee she leaves behind her husband Scott E. Lockman, whom she married on May 11, 1984, one son Bryan S. Lockman of Cobleskill, NY and one daughter, Kaitlyn A. Gustafson and her husband William F. Gustafson of Stamford, CT, her father and mother-in-law Edward and June Lockman of Pittsfield, MA, brother and sister-in-law Randy and Heidi Lockman and nephew Andrew Lockman of Pittsfield, MA, sister and brother-in-law Wendy and David Coe of Peru, MA, Aunts and Uncles; Godmother Norma and Jack Kelly, Richard and Elizabeth Biasin, Ottavio and Francis Biasin all of Lee, her god father Donald Polastri of CA, her loving cousin Christine Clauss and many special cousins, great cousins, close friends especially Diane Arthur, Linda Fargnoli and Linda Welch, thanking all of them for their loving care, prayers and support during her illness. Kathy will be remembered by her family and friends as a caring, loving, person, always putting others before herself, especially her children. She had the most generous, giving heart and would do anything for her family. Her passions included skating, snowmobiling, taking destination beach vacations with the family, shopping, spending time with her family at their cottage on Forest Lake, decorating for the holidays, arts and crafts, and her beloved beagle, Daisy. Besides her father, she was predeceased by her Grandparents Dominic and Mary Biasin and Henry Polastri, Aunts Irene, Eileen, Barbara, Gina and Gloria and Uncles Raymond and Henry. Thank you to Dr. Takami Sato and his staff at Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kathy's honor to Jefferson Foundation with "Uveal Melanoma Research Fund" mentioned attn: Emma Laverty Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University, 925 Chestnut Street, #220A, Philadelphia, PA. 19107. At Kathy's wishes, services will be held where her extended family resides, in the Berkshires, with calling hours from 6-8pm Thursday evening at the Kelly Funeral Home 3 Main St, Lee, MA 01238. The Funeral for Kathy will be held on Friday morning May 29th at 9:15 am from the funeral home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Mary's Church with burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
