Wetzel, Donna M. (In Memoriam)
Donna M. Wetzel Our Dearest Donna: It was a year ago on February 5th that our hearts were broken when you left us and this transitory world in exchange for the eternal glory and blessedness of heaven. No longer burdened by sin, sickness, sorrow or death, and absent from your earthly tabernacle, you are forever present with the LORD in unsurpassed abundant joy, unfading glory, undiminished bliss, and unlimited delights. You are now filled with endless pleasures and basking in the reality of our chief end - to glorify God by enjoying Him forever. We miss you - it goes without saying, however we are compelled to repeat it numerous times daily regardless, rehearsing wonderful memories of your life with us. It is only our imagination that allows us to think that no mere earthly pleasure can even begin to measure up to the privilege and the ecstasy of an unhindered view and experience of perfect, unbroken fellowship with the Lord Jesus, King of Kings! Learning how to live daily in this world without you has been, and will only be possible by the grace and mercy of God. However, we go on from here taking comfort in the words of that great missionary to China, J. Hudson Taylor, whose books you and I both loved to read: "He (God) and He only knew what my dear wife was to me. He knew how the light of my eyes and the joy of my heart were in her. On the last day of her life - we had no idea that it would be the last [and neither did we] - our hearts were mutually delighted by the never old story of each other's love . . . and almost her last act was, with one arm round my neck, to place her hand on my head and, as I believe, for her lips had lost their cunning, to implore a blessing on me. But He saw it was good to take her - good indeed for her, and in His love He took her painlessly - and not less good for me who now must toil and suffer alone, yet not alone, for God is nearer to me than ever." We ponder daily what you are doing and experiencing in that blessed state. We can only imagine for we only "see through a glass darkly" (ICor 13:12), however you now know perfectly without obscurity or error, and we desire to understand how perfect it is. Your family, Chuck, Matthew and MaryElla
