Charles McFadden Jr.

McFadden, Charles, Jr.

With his head held high and with peace in his heart, Charles "Chuckie" McFadden Jr., 45, of Maine NY left our world Friday, January 4, 2013 running to his parents' arms awaiting him in Heaven. He is survived by his sister, Mischelle Dattoria; niece and nephew, Ashley and Nicholas Dattoria; lifelong friends, Mr. Hidy Ochiai, John and Vicki Perricone, Patricia and Al Krzyewski, Angela and Sonny Spera; and countless friends on whose lives he made an indelible mark. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Leah McFadden. When Chuck learned of his terminal cancer he kindly looked at the doctor and said "Thank you Doctor. I'm sorry you had to tell me that - this must be very hard for you to do." This courageous gesture captured the essence of Chuck's existence in this world -one of kindness, love, and concern for others above all else. Struck by a drunk driver when he was four brought a life of unparalleled adversity, but Chuck never once played the role of a victim, but rather chose to live a life of strength with the hope that he might inspire others to appreciate the gift of their lives as much as he appreciated his own. He considered himself blessed. When word of his illness spread on Facebook, an outpouring of love and prayers for Chuck poured in from across the country. Because he gave his love unconditionally, he was adored by every person who had the good fortune to cross his path. He will be missed more than words can express. Thank you Chuck, for being one of the greatest teachers we will ever know. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 4PM at the Most Holy Rosary Church, 36 Main St, Maine NY 13802 followed by a celebration of his life in the Church Hall. At Chuck's request, donations in his memory can be made out to the Danielle House, 160 Riverside Drive, Binghamton NY 13905.
