Claire Brant(1920 - 2013)


93, formerly of Susquehanna, PA entered into rest on December 11, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years Robert in February 2011. Claire is survived by her two daughters, Diane Zang, Chestertown, MD and Deborah and Sam Sterkenberg, Leola, PA; two sons, James and Linda Brant, Royersford, PA and John and Jennifer Brant, Hallstead, PA; six grandchildren, Dean and Christopher Zang, Ashleigh Plank, Ryan Brant, Jessica Hearne, and Nathan Brant; three great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Aaliyah, and Carter; and many nieces and nephews. Claire and her husband, Robert, owned and operated Brant's Dairy Bar and Dad's Stand, selling produce for 18 years. She was a member of the Hallstead United Methodist Church as well as a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary. She graduated from Hallstead High School and was employed by Sears and Roebuck in Binghamton and by the Blue Ridge School District. Claire enjoyed baking, art activities, card games and Scrabble. She especially enjoyed "winning" at Bingo. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc., Hallstead, PA. Spring interment will be made in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8:30 p.m. Friday and from 10-11, Saturday, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the VFW Post 6223, 386 Main Street, Great Bend, PA.18821.
