David Wallace Pepin, 73, of Binghamton, NY, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday September 26, 2013. David was preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Delores Pepin. He also leaves behind the love of his life of 53 years, Lola Pepin whom he married on December 10, 1960 at Erie Side Blvd Church in Willoughby, Ohio. David will be deeply missed by his wife Lola; his daughter Renee French and her husband Tony French; his son David Pepin; grandson Brandon and his wife Leah, granddaughter Ms. Leah French; brother Timothy Pepin and his wife Kathy; sister Patricia Lutwen. Also saying sad goodbyes are many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many wonderful and loyal friends. David was born December 13, 1939 in Painesville, Ohio to Wallace and Delores {Brown} Pepin. He graduated with a BA in engineering from Tri State College in Angola, IN. He diligently and honorably served in the US Navy during the Korean conflict as a sonar operator. He worked for and retired after 30 plus years from GE/BAE as an electro magnetic engineer. David served as president of the Southern Tier Hockey Association for many years. He was a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church, Binghamton, NY and actively involved in all aspects of the ministry for over 45 years. He has served in many capacities including leading the Youth Group, Deacon Chairman and currently Missions Committee Chairman, Pulpit Committee Chairman, Deacon, Multi Media services, Choir and Kidz Kamp. Dave and Lola ministered to many. They sincerely enjoyed their friends while regularly hosting a small group Bible Study at their home. David's love and loyalty to his family was of utmost importance and leaves behind a most beautiful legacy. His favorite times were when his family was together. He loved to fish with his fishing buddies and taking his neighbor to lunch. He loved his home state of Ohio including the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns. A Memorial Service will be held Friday October 4th at 6:30 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 466 Chenango Street, Binghamton, NY 13901 with Tony French officiating. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Dave can be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Camp Fund.
