Artim, Stephen J.
Binghamton: Stephen J. Artim, 83, of Binghamton, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, February 20, 2013, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Evelyn Artim and one brother, Eugene Artim. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Martha N. Artim, Binghamton; four children, Thomas and Sandra Artim, Orchard Park, NY, Marti and Ron Kishpaugh, Beverly Hills, FL, Bill and Nancy Bowen Artim, Binghamton, Janet and Bruce Pedey, Spokane, WA; five grandchildren, Amy Kishpaugh, Laura Artim, Brian Pedey, Stephen Artim, and Billy Pedey; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Stephen was a member of Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church, Binghamton and a member of the Holy Name Society and was Boy Scout Master of Holy Spirit Troop 38. He was president and CEO of Spaulding Bakery and was employed at Pierson's Office Supply. He was a veteran of the Korean War
, serving in the Navy and Air Force. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Scranton and was a member of the Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society. He was a member of the Johnson City Knights of Columbus. He loved fishing, traveling and New York Giants football. Funeral services will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home Inc. 150 Main Street Johnson City Sunday at 2PM. The Rev. Fr. Peter Tomas, pastor of his church, will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Spirit Cemetery, Kattelville, NY at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 1PM until the time of the services.
