Economides, Theodore J.

VESTAL: Theodore "Ted" J. Economides, 75, of Vestal, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Largo Medical Center, Largo, Florida, after a brief illness. He is survived by his devoted wife of 18 years, Margaret "Peg" Economides, his daughter, Karen Lewis (Matt) of Irmo, SC, son, Ed Economides (Melissa) of Vestal, and stepson, David Manley (Denelle) of Wake Forest, NC; nine grandchildren: Adam and Christopher of Irmo, SC, Chad, Noah, and Charisma of Vestal, Paige and Alex of Wake Forest, NC, and Grant and Zach of Brook Park, MN; and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Soter and Olive Economides, brother, Robert Economides, and stepson, Stephen Manley. He graduated from Vestal High School in 1955 and earned degrees from SUNY- Oswego. He was an Industrial Arts teacher with 27 years of service with the Vestal School District. He was a member and served office with the New York State Industrial Arts Association throughout the 1960's and 1970's. He was a member at Vestal United Methodist Church. Ted was an avid fan of baseball and NASCAR, loved to play golf, andbowled in leagues for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, bluegrass music festivals, and spending time with his wife on the lake in Canada and at the beach in Florida. The most important thing to be said of Ted is that he was a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather, and a true friend to many. He will be greatly missed.
