Perrin, William and Peter

Bill and Peter Perrin have died in close succession. Predeceased by their parents, Porter Gale Perrin and Dorothy Merchant Perrin; eldest son, William Burton Perrin, 82, died in Morrisville on December 17, 2013; followed 19 days later by youngest son, Peter Anthony (T.P.) Perrin, 79, in Port Dickinson on January 5, 2014. Both brothers grew up in Hamilton. Bill worked at General Motors for many years. He found joy in following professional boxing, playing the saxophone, and caring for his husky, Marnie. Peter founded the Alliance for American Song and was an accomplished writer, poet, musician, and world traveler. They were united in their love of Burying Island, Franklin, ME. In their final years, both were overtaken by illness, Bill by strokes, a fall, and dementia; Peter by heart disease. They are survived by their middle brother, Stephen G. Perrin, Bar Harbor, Maine; Bill's daughter, Leslie Perrin Wilson, Clinton, MA; grandchildren, Anni Wilson of Louisa, VA, Lillian Wilson of Taos, NM, Monica Kelly, Clinton, MA; and great-grandchildren, Cynthia and Jocelyn Kelly; Steve's sons, Ken Perrin, Ellsworth, Maine, and Jesse Perrin, Revere, MA. The ashes of both Bill and Peter will be buried this summer in Riverside Cemetery, Hancock, ME. Memorial donations may be sent to Friends of Taunton Bay, P.O. Box 411, Hancock, ME 04640-0411.
