Bruce Singleton Obituary
Deposit: Bruce Charles Singleton, 40, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 9, 2011. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Marjorie and Jim Singleton, Clayton and Lucille Powell, June Antalek. He is survived by his wife, Kelly and his daughter, Lucille Ann; parents, Lynn and Harry Hartz, Roger J. Singleton Sr., step-parents Cindy and Gary Schoonmaker; brothers Roger J. and Tiffany Singleton Jr., Jamie and Colleen Eldred, Jason Eldred, Mark and Marina Singleton, Neil and Kim Eldred; sisters, Dawn and Anthony Salvatore, Anita and Dave Sexton, Marcia and John VanDenBush; his in-laws, Kim and Fred Emmi; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Melissa and Jamie Hayes, Billy and Dena Comfort; his goddaughter, Leah Eldred; all his loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him so much, and many loving friends; and his beloved dogs, Butch and Sundance. He was varsity football coach of Seton Catholic Central and employee of J C Smith. He was an avid fisherman, Buffalo Bills fan, college basketball fanatic, loved the outdoors and peanut butter. He loved his family with all his heart. A funeral mass will be offered Monday, November 14, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John/St. Andrew Church, 1263 Vestal Avenue, Binghamton. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY, Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Seton Catholic Central Athletic Fund, 30 Seminary Avenue, Binghamton, NY 13905 in memory of Bruce Singleton.

I knew Coach for only a short time, but it felt like forever. He was the best coach I ever had in my life. I don't think I will ever find one that is so dedicated to football and his philosopy of the game. I love you coach and will never forget you.

Coach Singleton was a blessing in our son Javon's life. He was a mentor, role model and friend. He inspired him to always keep going and be his best on and off the field. Bruce Singleton coached my son Matt on the Seton Catholic Varsity Football Team. He was a great coach loved by my son and all the players. He helped turn my son into a starting defensive tackle a position he now loves. He always had time to talk to parents and players. He was a positive role figure for the boys and constantly motivated them to be all that they can be. Bruce touched many lives at Seton and will never be forgotten. I will always remember his smile, sense of humor and his love for the game of football. My heart and prayers go out to his wife Kelly and 5 month old daughter Lucille Ann. He was truly a great man.
