John Krzyzewski Obituary
Endicott: John R. Krzyzewski, of Endicott, 76, treasured husband, father, and grandfather, died suddenly at home on Sunday, February 16, 2014. He was born in Nanticoke, PA, son of the late Ignatius and Anna Krzyzewski. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Donna; children, Kim Krzyzewski, Kristen Krzyzewski and David Yalowitz; and a greatly adored granddaughter, Anya Joseph. Predeceased by family members, Irene, Clement, Joseph, Francis and Edward. He is survived by siblings, Cecile, Ignatz (Gerry), Leonard (Dollie), Albert (Pat), Bernard and Robert (Lorraine); in-laws, Marilyn & Bert Karlson; and many nieces, nephews, and lifelong family friends. He also leaves behind special friends, Lyndon Joseph, Francis Gilbert, and psycho-kitty, Susi. Following his two-year service in the United States Army, John was graduated from Penn State with highest honors. He had a successful career of over 30 years with IBM, including living abroad with his family for two years in Japan and many other international trips that took him around the world. Following his "retirement", he thrived in his career as a real estate broker with McKinney Real Estate. "John K," as he was known to so many, had an irreplaceable wit and humor, and was a lifelong philosopher and student of many interests including, but not limited to, history, science, travel and culture. John K loved Penn State Football, Duke Basketball, and his koi pond, but his most precious moments were spent with his family. Family and friends are invited to call from 3-5 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, located on 200 Jefferson Ave., Endicott. Funeral Service to commence at 5 p.m. officiated by Father John Martinichio. Dinner will follow in the church hall. Burial will take place on Friday at Vestal Hills Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations In memory of John may be made to the Chow Pantry at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 200 Jefferson Ave., Endicott, NY 13760.

He was the brother I looked up to. Took his name for conformation and was my sponser. Also, was asked to be best man for our wedding and he deferred to brother Bernard as he was not a best man at the time. He is in a better place now but we know how you will miss him. God bless. Our heartfelt sympathy on John's passing. We've been friends for nearly 50 years and although we moved away in 1986 ( on a two year assignment) we've been able to remain friends and will miss John.
Laura has been reviewing my thousands of slides and recently commented on how many pictures there are of us with our Endicott friends. I'm hoping to get up there this summer and will be sure to give you a call.
We will continue to keep you all in our prayers.

Dear Aunt Donna, Cousin Kim and Cousin Kris,
My fond and very positive and loving memories go all the way back to when Uncle John was a dashing eligible bachelor. I even remember his extensive wardrobe taking up a whole room instead of just a closet. Aunt Donna was the Annette Benning to Uncle John's Warren Beatty, if you know what I mean. He was such a catch, and Aunt Donna you caught him. I felt he always put you first, a great trait in a great husband. Aunt Donna, you and John were so kind to bring me a gorgeous tiger's eye and pearl and silver ring from Japan. Uncle John and I were in that IBM Fraternity. He was such a great listener and so cool and comfortable in his own skin and made me feel as though he really "got" me. I want you to know how much he meant to me. I am greatly sorry for your loss. Aunt Donna I imagine you would have loved another 49 years with Uncle John. Kim and Krissy, you are his greatest legacy. I will never forget him.
