Susquehanna, PA: Doris Irene Hedges, 79, died Thursday, October 18, 2012. She was born in Binghamton, NY on March 8, 1933. She is predeceased by mother, Beatrice Lewis Diffendorf; father, Marchie James Diffendorf, her first husband, Walter F. Pavelski Jr.; husband, George Keesler; husband, Carl Hedges; two brothers, William Diffendorf Sr., and Donald Diffendorf; sisters, Betty and Shirley; grandson, Anthony J. Survilla. She is survived by eleven children and their families, Walter Pavelski III, Dennis Pavelski Sr., Michael Pavelski, Robert Pavelski, Patricia Pavelski Holden, Annette LaBerge, Carla Berger, Dr. Stephen Hedges, Michael Hedges; Rosemary Chonko, Ruth Pulse; 35 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; three sisters, Beverly Rounds, Betty Lou Kelly, Virginia Pompeii; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Diffendorf and Shirley Diffendorf, family member, Gloria Courtright. Doris also leaves over 100 nieces and nephews that loved her very much. She was loved by all who knew her and was a reflection of her mother by being so kind, caring and always thinking of others before herself. She will be remembered for her many talents, including Doris's homemade fudge, baking, her floral designs and crafts. She holds the record for the most Blue Ribbons won at the Harford Fair, PA. She was a lifetime member of the Del-Se-Nango Old Tyme Fiddler's Association and a member of St. Lawrence Church, Great Bend, Pa. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 11AM at St. Lawrence Church, 380 Franklin Street, Great Bend, PA with Father David Cramer officiating. Burial will take place in Gibson Cemetery, Gibson, PA. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 22, 2012 from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. with a 9 p.m. memory sharing at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY.
