Kolosky, Francis "Skip"
Francis Walter "Skip" Kolosky, 82, Binghamton, died unexpectedly and peacefully Friday, June 28, 2013. He was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy (Harlos) Kolosky; his son-in-law Stephen Woods; and his step-daughter Michelle Harvey. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Ruthann (Taylor) Kolosky; six children, Deborah Woods, Concord, NH; Robert Kolosky, Sr., Athens, GA, David "Skip Jr." (Laurie) Kolosky, Maine, NY; Carol (Edwin) Pickering, Mt. Upton, NY; James (Patricia) Kolosky, Orange Park, FL; Kathleen Kolosky, Binghamton; Ric (Kathy) Harvey, Huntington Mills, PA. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Peggy Bessey; brother-in-law Burton (Pat) Taylor; sister-in-law Ruth Wirth; cousin Joe Kolosky, several nieces and nephews and "Sarah" his faithful beagle companion. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict earning the National Defense and Good Conduct Medals. He was employed by Kroehler Furniture for over 30 years and the Binghamton School District for 10 years. He was a life member of American Legion Post 1645 and Broome County Veteran's Memorial Association. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Paul's Parish in Binghamton. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Paul's Church, 282 Chenango Street, Binghamton, NY at 1pm on Tuesday. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME INC. 137 Robinson St., Binghamton, NY Tuesday from 10am until 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Broome County Veteran's Memorial Association at 76 Main St. Binghamton, NY 13905.

I am sorry to just read this, the Skip was good pals with my dad "Shorty" Wedeman growing up on the East side and the family was always really good to my family and the boys were a lot of fun to hang out with growing up .Great fun and adventure with the guys growing up on the East side along with the McCarthy family too. I am so sorry of hearing of skips passing he was a dear friend to my parents and myself. He always had a rich smile and was always fun to be around. Thoughts and Prayers to The Kolosky Family. Skip was admired by everybody as he was the real deal. A true gentleman. He gave so much time to the Legion and youth sports. Growing up on the Eastside was special because we were blessed to have fathers like Skip. God Bless You.
