Hancock and Candor, NY: Helen Marie Roth Connolly passed peacefully away from this life to be by the side of her husband, Anthony, on June 30, 2011. Helen was born in Scranton on March 15, 1938 to the late Fred and Mary Hughes Roth. She was predeceased on May 14, 2011 by her husband, Anthony. They shared a bond of love and caring that lasted over 55 years. She is survived by her children, Cheryll (Robert) Berg of Candor, Susan (Peter) Mobijohn of Kerhonkson and Joseph Connolly of Texas. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Peter, Sara and Clara Berg; Jolan, Danielle, Melanie and Nakia Mobijohn; and Nathaniel Connolly; several nieces and nephews. She leaves behind two canine companions, Jack and Jill who were very special to her and Anthony. Helen grew up in Taylor, Pa., moving to the French Woods area of Hancock in the late 1950s. Helen was a very social person who truly enjoyed her many friends and relatives. She was known for her ability to talk to anyone anywhere. Her many friends will miss her phone calls. She enjoyed shopping, traveling and music. In the past few years she was especially fond of the Candor jams which brought her much delight. She was a great mother and would do anything for those who needed help. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Union Church in Owego at the time of her death. In Hancock, she attended the Hancock Baptist Church for many years. The family wishes to thank Tioga County Hospice, the many aides who helped us and Michelle Brophy and family for their caring and compassion. Services provided by Estey & Munroe Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at the end of the month.
