Beavan, James G.

Endicott: James G. Beavan, 83, of Endicott, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 17, 2013. He is predeceased by his wife Norma in 2005. He is survived by his loving family: two children and a daughter-in-law, Chuck and Kathy Beavan, Ellicott City, MD, Jeanne Bacon, Endicott; four grandchildren, Chris Haight, Scott Beavan, Casey Beavan, Andrew Spears; six great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Lois Beavan, Johnson City; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim served his country in the United States Navy where he met his wife; he was retired from IBM (35 years) and a member of the Quarter Century Club. He will be remembered as an avid bowler and fisherman, enjoying time spent at Tall Timber Lodge in NH. Jim enjoyed reading, watching sports, volunteering with AARP during tax season and doing his lotto scratchers. A memorial to celebrate Jim's life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013. Anyone interested in attending is asked to contact Chuck Beavan at, Jeanne Bacon at or the funeral home for more information. In a final gesture, Jim's fellow wood carving members at Candor Catatonk Valley Woodcarvers will be carving the urn to be buried at Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
