Johnson City: Jamie C. Hiza, 29, of Johnson City, born September 4, 1983 passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 8, 2013. He was predeceased by his great-grandfather, Clifford Stanton. Jamie is survived by his Dad, Robert Hiza (Denel Strong), Mom, Tammie (Pete) Stanton Cook, sisters, Meghan (Damien Carey), Danielle (Tim Rose), Samantha Cook, Cheryl (Jeremy Holbrook) and Morgan Cook. His step-mom, Jennifer Dorsino, Paternal grandmother, Ruth Hiza, Maternal grandmother, Pauline Stanton, Great-grandmother, Martha Stanton, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Especially BillyJo and Larry McKercher and son, Gavin, and Tina Stanton and an abundance of friends. Jamie was highly intelligent. He was an avid sports fan, he loved his Knicks ("The Knicks Kid"), Giants and Mets. He could rattle on for hours on just about any sports statistic. He was a loving and caring person, who would lend a hand to friends and family. He will be missed by all who have come to know him. All your pain is gone, Rest in Peace my son.
Funeral services will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, Wednesday at 4 p.m. Pastor Randy Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Town of Dickinson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. until time of services.
