Place, Joan M. (Giordano)

Binghamton: Joan M. (Giordano) Place, 74, of Binghamton, went to be with the Lord and her family Saturday afternoon, November 16, 2013, at Bridgewater Nursing Center. She was predeceased by her parents, Felix and Helen Giordano; a brother, Peter Giordano; and a brother-in-law, Robert Jenks. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Robert M. Place, Binghamton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kelli (Norm) Weber, Hyde Park, NY, Danielle (Stephane) Couturier, France; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Roxann (Larry) Vincent, Morrisonville, NY; four grandchildren, Tiffany (Anthony), Ryan (Nikki), Owen and Clara; two step-granddaughters, Erica and Beth; also several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Jenks and Maria Launikitis, both of Endicott; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Place, Endicott; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Rollo, Endicott, and Linda Giordano, Binghamton; a special aunt, Mary DiFulvio, Binghamton; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. She was a member of SS. John and Andrew Church, Binghamton. Joan loved music and dancing. She worked for many years as a hairdresser at The Classic Beauty Salon in Endicott and was a former employee of Tri Cities Communications in Binghamton. Funeral Services will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. at SS. John and Andrew Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to SS. John and Andrew Church, 1263 Vestal Ave., Binghamton, NY 13903, the , 13 Beech St., Johnson City, NY 13790 or the , 401 Hayes Ave., Endicott, NY 13760 in Joan M. Place's memory.
